Week 3 part 1

There is something about the Internet and posting negative comments that intimidates me a bit.  It is kind of like when we were in high school and any problems or negative comments would  remain on our records forever.  I have this vision of ripping a company a new one for terrible service or faulty product, then one day sitting for a job interview at another company and my words coming back on me.

I believe social media takes the squeaky wheel concept to a whole new level.  I always look at reviews of products or companies before I purchase or engage in working with them.  Yelp has come to be a very helpful and powerful tool.  I have personally posted positive comments when I have experienced a good product or great service.

I have learned of companies changing policy or products based on feedback and/or reviews on social media.  In the event I was a business owner, I would be monitoring every social media channel possible to be aware of the conversations.  To be honest, I would probably hire an expert to help in the event of something negative.   I have a tendency to lash out quickly in defense, rather than digest what is being said first.
